Saturday, March 30. Wow! Overnight, it gets worse! Still stone cold deaf and serious pain. Still we had to move, so we packed our rental car and headed to our next destination Agrigento. I had pretty much run us out of the ibuprofen. Seeing a “farmacia” along the route I pulled over and Sandy ran in. Using her best Italian, and showing the pharmacist an empty Box of Ibuprofen that she had purchased in Spain, she managed to convey our needs. So my linguist wife (that was her major in college 53 years ago) negotiated a transaction in Italian, based on interpreting the writing on a Spanish box of pills and ending with an English “Thank You” came back out of that farmacia with a packet of that pain killing miracle pill. I am so lucky to have her.
Marsala to Agrigento
We arrived at our hotel which is the only one actually on the Grounds of the Archeological Park of the Valley of the Temples. It was too late to explore the park but from our hotel we could see the lit up Temple Concordia, thrilling.
We had dinner and then I went to bed, knowing that the pain in my ears/head would subside tomorrow. I really couldn't eat much, I was full from all the pain pills.
