My last posting to this travel journal was on Friday, March 29 talking about our travels of Thursday, March 28. Then I went silent. These series of short travel journal posts are intended to bring the daily log up to date.
Marsala Friday March 29. We had intended to explore up the coast and to visit the cablecar-only accessed mountain top town of Erice. There was also a Carthaginian site that had caught my eye. When we woke up in the morning Sandy had continued to shake off her cold but I had now gone 100% deaf, and my ears were expressing pressure and pain. I assumed that my cold had moved to my head and that tomorrow it to would be all gone. Since we were moving to a new location tomorrow we figured it would be best to just try to help the recovery by taking it easy which we did. By late afternoon I was popping the ibuprofen like M&Ms.
