Rainforest Living in Volcano, February 13, 2022

Here we are living at the foot of an active volcano 🌋 which we aim to explore a bit tomorrow.

However, one of the things we had high hopes of attending while on the Big Island was the Pana’ewa Stampede Rodeo…then we read that they were not going to have it because of the Covid surge.  So we drove to Hilo today, about a 40 minute drive to at least see the grounds where it would have been.  While there we took some photos and talked to some equine people who told us the rodeo would be held this coming weekend after all!  Yay!

Here are some pics of the empty rodeo grounds…before they fill up in the next few days…

Then we went to a small grocery in Hilo for some staples before heading back to Volcano so we could watch the Super Bowl

Papayas are inexpensive…strawberries, not so much…

Carl gets to watch the Super Bowl on his iPhone, since our house has no television
