We joined the Buckeye Tour Bus Group to go to the game, leaving the hotel at 8am for the 11am game. Carl and I got off the bus and started walking around the campus to find the Nebraska band. First we found the cheerleaders, and of course they wanted Carl to pose with them…
Then we entered the stadium and found our group of Buckeyes in the sea of Big Red fans…not so easy, especially when we were so oxygen deprived by the time we reached the highest elevation of the stadium!
I have never witnessed such avid fans! Their team is 1-6 but their fans turned out better than for a highly ranked team. Not only do they show up but they are ENTHUSIASTIC! Before the game they handed out thousands of red balloons to everyone, not just children. During the game we found out why. (See Carl’s post).
The game was tough to watch but we had a good time anyway, winning 26-17. The weather was nice after it warmed up in the afternoon. We came back and enjoyed more Buckeye camaraderie in the hotel lobby. Then it’s been more football here in the room. Carl is in hog heaven!
