Grandchildren European Trip: Off to Paris (May 27, 2025)

Today the actual travel begins.  From Charleston to New York and then on to Paris.  Our original plan called for a two hour layover in New York.  Two weeks ago the airline changed that to a nine hour layover.  Crap.  We could have canceled but I could not find better flights.  So hanging at the Big Apple (JFK) was now our plan B.  To make the most of it we spent the afternoon in the Lobby of the TWA Hotel.  It is a hotel in the old TWA terminal at what was then called Idlewild Airport.  The Hotel is retro 60’s and very cool.  Sandy and I have stayed over night in the hotel before and thought that the kids would enjoy it….at least more so than spending nine hours in a airport lounge.
