Island Hopping 2024: Crete, Last Day at Kalamaki Beach

Today was our last full day at Kalamaki Beach.  And, like at other stays, we spent the day getting ready to move on.  Things like doing laundry, packing our suitcases, finishing the wine and snacking away on all the leftovers in the fridge, and in this case boiling all the shells that Sandy had collected.  About mid morning we walked along the beach enjoying the calm seas and warm breeze.  We sat on a bench, watched the Libyan Sea and reminisced about our time here.

Seldom do we see a prettier seascape than we have here at Kalamaki Beach

One sea, so many different shades of blue

Can't take the wine on the plane with us

Sandy's shells

In the evening we went out to one of the three open restaurants along the strand, and enjoyed a light meal of fried souvlaki and the Greek fava hummus.  The owner gifted us a free Greek sweet to take home.

Like every day on the this coast we had another unforgettable sunset.

Unforgettable
