Island Hopping 2024: Spain, Madrid, A Travel Day

We had a late flight today. All but one of our fellow travelers left for home before we checked out.  It was good to be on our own as independent travelers again, but we will miss having Kim and Judy around to smooth out all the bumps in the road for us.  I spent much of the afternoon sitting on the Hotel patio in Marrakech getting caught up on these posts.  Then our travels became a cab to the airport, a flight to Madrid, a pick up of our Hertz Citroen, and somehow we found our hotel.  Now, sitting next to a fireplace at Midnight, enjoying a pizza, a cocktail and reflecting on Morocco.

Can't get much prettier than this

So here's to Morocco – where chaos isn't a glitch, it's a feature. The medinas are like mazes designed by a mischievous genius, the souks are a workout for your haggling muscles, and traffic is a dance with destiny. Cheers to the organized chaos that makes Morocco feel like a real-life choose-your-own-adventure novel!  Morocco, we bid you farewell; farewell to your chaos, to your gardens, to your mountains, to your seaside, and, of course, to your unforgettable flavors. May the chaos always be navigable, the gardens forever blooming, the mountains eternally towering, the seaside endlessly captivating, and the food perpetually tantalizing … and also here is to whatever new adventures Spain will bring us.
