After visiting the Waimea Canyon, we had to get some shave ice and then we headed to PoiPu Beach where we heard that turtles were “in”.

PoiPu Beach is known as a good family beach, good for snorkeling. It was pretty crowded with families enjoying every bit of the beach.
Then we found a Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, resting on the beach and ignoring the beach goers. Apparently they come to this beach to lay out on the sand to nap and get warm. This usually happens between 6 pm and 6 am but we caught this one a little early. Cones are set up to keep people at least 10 feet away when one is spotted.
