Today was our first full day back in the Midwest. I woke up on Midwest Time, Sandy was pretty well committed to waking up on the same old California Time she was used to. I used that time to straighten out a problem we were having with Sandy's TSA clearance. Hopefully, it was time well spent, as American Airlines assured me that Sandy would be back in the TSA-pre line for our final flight to Columbus this coming Monday.
Sandy did wake up in time to make it down for the hotel breakfast (barely) well rested. Our hotel was right off of the University of Nebraska campus, so we took this opportunity to scout out the enemy's territory. I especially liked all the sculptures around their fine arts building.
We made it over to their stadium which while quiet and locked-up today, should be rocking on Saturday with over 90,000 fans, some of whom, like us, will be rooting for the Buckeyes. Nebraska fans are pretty loyal and loud. This should be a fun game, win or loose.
After visiting campus, checking out the book store, walking through Lincoln's Haymarket District (bars and restaurants...and a train) and touring the State House, we changed from our Embassy Suites in Lincoln to our Embassy Suites in Omaha where we were to meet up with a group of other Buckeyes coming to see the game.
