Up this morning and out into the town for coffee and a crumpet. We then took a stroll through town enjoying the very un-California feeling of this quaint city. With the cold weather and cloudy skies it felt as much like Door County Wisconsin as it did a Pacific Coast City just 30 miles from Tijuana, Mexico.
We ended the day with an outstanding meal at Serēa, another James Beard recognized restaurant. This is the premier restaurant at the Hotel Del Coronado. As expected, the food and service at this restaurant was flawless. It was a nice relaxing way to end a fun day at the Del.
But did they give you a cooking lesson? Plus, the post above this one made me wonder just how small was that cottage where Wallis and No. 1 lived? And, you both look great.

DeleteNot a lesson, but still some education on the red snapper. Hang by the tail for 24 hours to dry it out a bit. (You don't want a fish full of water hitting the hot oil) The Chef JoJo flash fries it at 350 degrees for exactly 6 minutes. I'm not sure who wrote this comment, but if you identify yourself, we can try doing this for one of our pavilion dinners. I also learned to identify the deferent taste profiles of West Coast, East Coast and Baja Oysters.
Regarding the Windsor Cottage, it really wasn't that big, you know, for someone who was going to marry a king someday. But it sure has a good location.
