Still in Santa Fe, NM
We spent the morning walking around downtown Santa Fe in 47 degree sunny weather. Here are some street scenes.
Carl planned quite a trip outside of Santa Fe about which he is posting. Outside of Bandelier National Monument we drove through one of the modern day Pueblo Indian reservations, the Jemez Tribe. Theiir ancestors were the ones who lived in Bandelier. Their tribe is governed by a Governor, First Lieutenant Governor and a Second Lieutenant Governor, all chosen by a panel of religious leaders of the tribe. Their language is only an oral language and they are trying to keep it alive with teaching it in their schools. It is against their law to let their words get transcribed.
