 STILL IN OKLAHOMA CITY

We are staying in an interesting section of Oklahoma City that is called Bricktown. It used to be nothing but an old warehouse district but in 1999 was transformed into a beautiful river walk and park with thriving restaurants and shops.  Residents paid an additional hefty tax for five years which funded this transformation and it has paid off for them, apparently. As we walked around, this what we saw.

We took a water taxi ride which was refreshing entertainment on a 97 degree day!

Later in the day, we drove out to the Cowboy Museum near Arcadia, OK.  One could easily spend 3 days going through this but this is a sample of interesting items.


Worn by Robert Redford in The Electric Horseman.  It even had lights!


Artist William Robinson Leigh depicted working cowboys…here is a close up…
