Destination: Elk City, Oklahoma
Most of the time, it is not the destination, it is the things along the way that makes the trip memorable. So it is as we meander through the rest of Oklahoma.
Oklahoma is FLAT! And very WINDY…Not winding windy, hot air blowing like crazy, windy. It’s no wonder the Dust Bowl just about relocated Oklahoma to the Potomac.
In the middle of oil country we passed many wind farms…
It felt like my hair dryer blowing on high all day, which was nice because it was 97 degrees today. I had to stop and take this rooster’s picture and it is obvious that my hair is heading east. What the Flock?!?
Most houses out here on the prairie are not remarkable so I had to take this picture…
The last stop of the day was the Oklahoma Route 66 museum. All the flags out front stood strong in the wind…a flag for each of the eight states that have part of Route 66 going through it.
Here is my precious travel partner…
…getting his kicks on Route 66.
